Cow and Calf moose on Gunflint Trail
I tried to get a picture of a calf moose crossing the road. As soon as it got across, the cow came out from the other side of the road and followed it's calf into the woods. Mid-Gunflint Trail area. Recorded on April 18, 2010Posted 1 year ago

Boundary Waters Black Backed Woodpecker
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area is a quiet place in the winter. It is easy to hear the tap, tap, tapping of this Black Backed Woodpecker while out on a snowshoe trek. There are numerous trails on the Gunflint Trail to look and listen for different kinds of birds. There's great birding near Voyageur Canoe Outfitters at the end of the Trail where I live.Posted 1 year ago
